About The Course
BLS Provider Renewal Prerequisite Challenge is a short online assessment designed to ensure the course candidate possesses knowledge of current and critical BLS concepts required to be successful on the BLS Provider Renewal course. Â The Prerequisite Challenge is intended for experienced providers who:
- Have an expired Heart & Stroke BLS Provider certification
OR
- Have a current BLS CPR card from another training agency
Previously called Health Care Provider (HCP) CPR & AED
The BLS Provider course teaches learners to promptly recognize cardiac arrest, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. It includes adult, child, and infant rescue techniques.
