Standard First Aid Level C

The Standard First Aid CPR AED Level C course is a comprehensive program designed to meet the needs of the workplace. This course is approved by the OH&S regulatory body.

Course content includes key areas required by workplace regulators, including:

· Emergency Scene Management

· Shock, Fainting and Unconsciousness

· Bleeding and Wounds

· Asthma and Allergies

· Head, Spinal and Pelvic Injuries

· Diabetic Emergencies

· Seizures

· Respiratory and Cardiovascular Emergencies

· And more…

 

Full course teaches learners to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. It includes adult, child, and infant rescue techniques (level C). The Standard First Aid course includes realistic scenarios and hands on practice. This course completion time varies depending on class sizes. This course can be ran either as a two day in person classroom learning or as a blended learning course requiring one day in person training and the completion of additional online modules. 

Course Cost:

Full Standard First Aid Course          $140  (2 day in person classroom learning)

Blended Standard First Aid Course  $140 (1 day in person training + online module completion)

 

Renewal Standard First Aid Course $105   (required every 3 years)

Renewals are fast-paced for experienced First Aid providers able to demonstrate knowledge through written and skills assessment. This is a concentrated one day course taking approximately 6-8 hours to complete.

 

Emergency First Aid
CSA Basic

The Emergency First Aid course is a designed to meet the needs of the low risk workplace. This course is great for the general public wanting to learn First Aid to feel better prepared to act in an emergent situation.

 

Course content includes:

· Emergency Scene Management

· Shock, Fainting and Unconsciousness

· Bleeding and Wounds

· Asthma and Allergies

· Head, Spinal and Pelvic Injuries

· Diabetic Emergencies

· Seizures

· Respiratory and Cardiovascular Emergencies

Psychological First Aid

The Canadian Red Cross Psychological First Aid program is 7 hrs in-class + an online component (approx. 45-90 mins.)


Learn how to anticipate stress whenever possible and equip yourself with the skillset to practice self-care and to provide care for others during times of stress, crisis or trauma.

This course equips learners in developing a personal understanding of the effects of stress, loss, trauma and grief on others, with emphasis on self-care and personal protection. Learners will be introduced to the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model - a resiliency-building approach to emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing that teaches learners how to support themselves and others to cope with the effects of various types of stress. The course uses primarily case-based learning and includes the latest evidence from the international community. Includes opioid poisoning awareness information.

Standard Childcare Level B
First Aid & CPR

Comprehensive two-day course offering lifesaving first aid skills, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, and injury prevention skills and knowledge, with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines and meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements. Includes opioid poisoning awareness information

Childcare First Aid certification valid for 3 years.

Due to lack of public demand, CETS only offers this course for private group bookings. Childcare Educators can also opt to take the Standard First Aid CPR Level C certification course in order to comply with Alberta's EARLY LEARNING AND CHILD CARE REGULATION ACT
